GO BEAVERS

Go Beavers is a yearly activity day for all Beavers across West Sussex where they can partake in a variety of fun filled activities across multiple themed areas! There will even be a chance to meet Badges the Beaver!

Who: Open to all Beavers across West Sussex!!

FAQ!

What time do we need to arrive?

  • Check In opens at 9:45 and activities start at 10. Drop off will be in Larks field. Please give yourself enough time to walk from Larks to the main field.

How does collection at the end of the day work?

  • Collection will be from Larks. Leaders are to bring beavers to the parents. No parents will be given access to the main field.

How do we check in?

  • One leader from each colony needs to go to the Information Tent when it opens at 9:45. Here you will be given an information pack containing, lanyards for all leaders, certificates, badges and more information. On arrival to the main field (Woodpeckers) there will be clearly labelled coloured zones as per wristbands.

How do we collect Goody Bags?

  • In your information pack you will be given a ‘Bag Collection Card’. This can be used at any time during the day to collect your goody bags from the Information Tent.

What do Beavers need to bring?

  • Please can Beavers be in Activity/Beaver Tops and wear their group scarf. Please ensure sensible footwear and be prepared for any weather.

Can we arrive by Coach or Minibus?

  • Please make sure you inform the Go Beavers Crew if you will be arriving by Coach or Minibus. Coaches will enter via the main entrance.

Is there First Aid on site?

  • We will have a first aid hut based on Finches. Leaders are responsible for ensuring they have health forms and one day activity forms for all Beavers.

How do we get wristbands?

  • Wristbands will be posted to the address given during booking before the event. All wristbands must have colony name and emergency contact on.

Lanyards

  • ALL DBS adults will be issued with Go Beavers lanyard. These MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES. These are personalised for each leader, if there are any changes to the leaders attending with your colony please let he Crew know ASAP.

Do we need to bring lunch?

  • Everyone needs to bring a packed lunch and plenty of water. You are welcome to eat lunch anywhere on Woodpeckers. In hot weather, we suggest bringing groundsheets to sit in shaded wooded areas.
  • There are water taps to fill up bottles throughout the day.

Will there be photographs and videos taken?

  • We will have the County Media Team walking around taking photos and videos. It is your responsibility to inform them of any Beaver who cannot be photographed.

Where do we park?

  • Coaches will enter via the main entrance to the main car park. Minibuses, Leaders and helpers please park in Larks.

Is there a Go Beavers shop?

  • We will have a Go Beavers Shop. Prices range from 50p to £2. Please decide if your Beavers are allowed to bring money and use your discretion as to how much.

Is everything on one site?

  • All activities are within the same main area except for the Bungee Trampolines, these are located further away from the main Go Beavers area and will take time to walk to. Measures will be put in place to ensure the queue is done fairly for this activity.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
