National Celebration of Achievements – April 2024

Date: 24th Apr 2024 Author: Mark Eastman
On Sunday Scouts from around the Country celebrated Scouting’s Parton Saint, St George.
For all those who achieved their King Scout Award (the top award a young person can achieve) in the past years are invited to the National Celebration of Achievements in Windsor Castle. Additionally those who supported during the time of mourning for our Late Queen were also invited. Here they paraded in the Castle’s Quadrangle by special invite of the King, in front of Bear Grylls, Chief Scout, and the Lord Lieutenant for Berkshire. Following this they all attended a special service in the Castle Chapel where they all renewed their promise.
A great day and experience for them all, an event they will not forget.
HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
