Celebrating the achievement of our Young People – June 2024

Date: 24th Jun 2024 Author: Mark Eastman

On Sunday we celebrated the achievement of our Young People. We were able to award the Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze and Silver Award certificates and also the Chief Scout Gold, Platinum and Diamond Award certificates. The certificates were presented by our Guest , Craig Sergeant, a RNLI Volunteer, who also gave a talk about the work of the RNLI and how the #SkillsForLife the young people gain from Scouting can be used in future life.

Congratulations to all the young people on their achievements.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
