Development
The County Development Team is lead by the Assistant County
Commissioner (Development) and is made up of a small team of County
Advisers and the County Recruitment and Development Officer
(CRDO).
The Development Team is responsible for:
- coordinating, implementing and reviewing the County Development
Plan.
- providing support to Districts and Groups to achieve their
Growth and Development Plans.
- advising on, supporting and monitoring grant applications.
County Project Panel
The Development Team works in partnership with the County
Project Panel, a sub-committee of the County Executive, which
considers all applications for CRDO and financial support.
Applications for support must be submitted using the 'County
Support & Loan Application' form. Contact the ACC Development
should you wish to discuss your application first.
Funding is available for:
- Opening a new section - £250
- Opening a new Group - £1500 (with the expectation that this
will eventually consist of 3 sections)
- Projects under £20,000 - 25%
- Projects over £20,000 - £5,000
Projects should meet one of the following objects:
- Increase the membership
- Increase the number of young leaders working in sections
- Increase the membership of the Scout Network
- Recruit adult support targeting the ages of 25 to 36 years
- Raise the profile of Scouting within West Sussex
- Improve opportunity to scout with West Sussex
- Emergency repair of headquarters*
- Improve facilities to meet current legislation*
* Grant or Loan applications for these will only be accepted from
the District
It is essential that applications for assistance are made
PRIOR to commencement of the project.
CRDO
Mark Guy is currently employed as the County Recruitment and
Development Officer, he is available to support the recruitment of
adult volunteers and assist with growth and development projects
across the County.
