Message from Richard Woolsey - West Sussex County Commissioner
December 2011
Dear All,
I would like to take the opportunity to thank John Spickett for
his work as County Commissioner. John has worked hard over the last
5 years to grow the numbers of young people and leaders from West
Sussex who are enjoying Scouting in the County. John has led the
team who have delivered continuous growth and who have recruited a
County Recruitment and Development Officer. I'm sure the
development of Scouting in West Sussex will stand as John's legacy
for the future.
I know many of you have already taken the opportunity to thank
John for his hard work and will therefore be aware that we had yet
to identify his successor. It is with pleasure that I can announce
that Irene Orford will become interim County Commissioner for West
Sussex from 22nd December 2011 until 31st March 2012. In the New
Year we will embark on searching for a long term appointee for the
role.
Irene has been involved in Scouting since 1988 and was awarded
the Award for Merit in 2007 for her valuable service. Irene started
as a leader with the Cub Scout section and is currently the Deputy
County Commissioner.
I know Irene will continue with the County development strategy
over the coming months. I also know that with your support Irene
will be a great asset to the County and to the Regional County
Commissioners Team.
Kind regards
Richard Woolsey
Regional Commissioner (South East England)
